Fashion retailers behind the Oasis and Warehouse chains have collapsed into administration, putting 2,300 jobs at risk.
The collapse will affect workers at nearly a dozen stores across Kent, and many more at the 92 branches and 437 concessions around the UK.
Three weeks ago, The Oasis and Warehouse Group began discussions with buyers and was approached by an unnamed company, which is thought to have backed out due to the uncertainly caused by the pandemic.
In Kent Oasis has standalone stores in Bluewater in Dartford, Bexleyheath, Bromley and Tenterden, and concessions in House of Fraser in both Bluewater and Maidstone, as well as Sainsbury's in Herne Bay.
Warehouse has a standalone shop in Bluewater and concessions in Fenwicks in Tunbridge Wells and Canterbury, as well as House of Fraser in Maidstone.
