Mr Ford said: "Chloe wouldn't sleep so I decided she could have a late night with me.
"I took her downstairs and put her in her high chair with the new little horse and carriage that my mum had given her.

"Then she started singing Jingle Bells because she had heard it on the TV.
"They both used to love getting in my bed in the morning, so I got Jake in and he was lying there his head on the pillow next to me staring into my eyes.

"He put his hand on my cheek and kissed my forehead. I was so proud because at that point I was like, 'You know I love you by the way you love me'.

"Knowing now that that was the last Christmas I'll get with my kids and the last day I'll spend with them.. it was perfect."

The interview comes just days after a court heard how "materialistic" mum Samantha Ford drowned her "miracle" IVF twins after her husband left her.

Mr Ford says losing his children is "torture".

He added: "To lose one child is horrific. To lose both your children is torture.
"But to lose your children because the other person that was supposed to protect them with their own life had taken theirs is incomprehensible and something I’ll never come to terms with.”
