A police spokesman said: "Officers attended and it was reported that four women had assaulted another woman and stole her mobile phone."

The victim - aged in her late teens - was taken to a local hospital, where she remains receiving treatment.

Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

It is believed many people were out and about on Sunday night, to watch England take on Italy in a tense Euros 2020 final at Wembley.

The girl's mum has since taken to Facebook to urge anyone with information to come forward.

She told how a "group of people...kicked my daughter in the head so much she’s not stopped having seizures and is in critical care".

"To top it all off they then robbed her money and phone," she added.

She later added: "My girl is stable now but is still having seizures and numbness in her legs so waiting on tests to find out why.

"She’s so emotional about this happening to her."

An investigation into the incident is ongoing and officers are asking anyone who saw what happened or who has information to call Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/121976/21 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or using their anonymous online form.
