Here’s why Betteshanger Country Park is a must-visit this summer

Betteshanger Country Park, near Deal, has undergone significant investment over the last year and is now the go-to country park in the area, hosting a range of exciting events alongside permanent features.

Set over 250-acres with a mix of woodland, grassland and lakes, Betteshanger Country Park is a stunning setting with elevated, distant views over the English Channel.

The brand-new visitor centre incorporates the Kent Mining Museum, The Glass Room events venue and The Lamp Room Kitchen + Bar.

This summer debuts a range of fantastic events including the Dino Expedition, celebrating the launch of the latest Jurassic world movie, with an interactive fossil experience and hunt for Raptor ‘X’.

Launched for May half-term, the Dino Expedition has proved an instant hit with kids.

The instructor-led courses include a hunt for genuine fossils that have lain undisturbed for millions of years and a search in the woods for a ferocious carnivore.

The instructors will take you through the collection of fossils which include teeth from some of the largest animals to ever inhabit land and sea like Spinosaurus and the Mosasaurus.

Further activities this summer include the launch of Swin Car, an off-road electric vehicles adventure, the Heritage Sprint, showcasing vintage vehicles, the Wind Festival where exciting kites will be on display and the 1940’s themed tribute to militaria with the We Will Meet Again event.
