Bargain hunting, being at one with nature and letting your hair down with some music will help you get away from the election in Maidstone on Thursday

From a spot of antiquing, to communing with nature - if you want to get away from it all, there’s lots to take your mind off current affairs in the Maidstone area.

The talk will be fast and furious at Maidstone Market Hall in Lockmeadow on polling morning – but it won’t be about the election result.

Head to the hall from as early as 8am for the chance to view one of the regular furniture auctions held there, one of which was filmed for the BBC’s Antiques Road Trip. The quick-fire bidding starts at 10am.
