Spa Valley Railway’s Kent Cheese Train from Tunbridge Wells to Eridge to return in January 2024

Cheese isn’t just for Christmas; plenty of people are fromage fanatics all year round.

If you still haven’t had your fill of cheesy treats, even after all the cheeseboards and baked brie, then you can hop aboard the Kent Cheese Train in January.

The train journey is hosted by the Spa Valley Railway and takes passengers between Tunbridge Wells and Eridge, serving up savoury snacks along the way.

The ticket includes a ride on the steam train and a selection box of four locally sourced cheeses for your table.

You will also receive caramelised onion marmalade, apricot and ginger chutney and olive oil and sea salt crackers, along with a drink of your choice.

The cheese selection includes Winterdale Shaw, made by Winterdale Cheesemakers in Wrotham, which is a cheddar-style cheese, and Kentish Blue from Kingcott Dairy in Staplehurst.

There will also be a helping of smooth and creamy Sussex Brie and the nutty Mayfield cheese, both made by Alsop and Walker in East Sussex.

The food will be supplied by the Cheese Shop in Tunbridge Wells, less than two miles from the train station.

Tickets cost £35 and include return travel, cheeses, snacks and a drink.

The trains run on January 13, 21 and 27, February 25 and March 24. Trains depart from either Tunbridge Wells West or Eridge, depending on the date.
