Fun for everyone at KM Charity Walk this weekend

There is something for everyone at the family-friendly KM Charity Walk taking place this Sunday, June 23 – even four legged friends.

Dogs on leads are welcome, and what’s more, there is a special offer of just £10 for two tickets – more than half price – for advance bookings made this week and for participants turning up to pay on the day.

Join walkers stepping out for fun or supporting their favourite charities as they follow a relaxed five-mile route or a more challenging 10-mile option, both offering stunning views of Kent countryside.

The routes start from Grade II-listed Georgian mansion Mote House in Maidstone with the longer walk taking in views of Leeds Castle – ‘the loveliest castle in the world’.

This year features a scarecrow trail and walkers can vote for their favourites. The scarecrows have been lovingly crafted by local schools and the best one will scoop £150 while one runner up school will receive £100.

Each walker will collect stamps from stamping stations along the way to exchange for a goody bag and souvenir medal on completion of the walk.

Children will enjoy fun challenges set by the Kent Wildlife Trust including a scavenger hunt during the walk and a craft workshop at the finish line.

Following the walk participants can relax in the grounds of Mote House and purchase barbecue food, ice creams and more while listening to Kent band the Acoustic Tones.

Participants can raise sponsorship money for any charity of their choice. Funds raised will be shared with 70 per cent going to walkers’ nominated charities and 30 per cent supporting the road safety and child literacy work of the KM Charity Team.
