Join the Christmas Doggie Jumper Walk from Botany Bay Hotel to Joss Bay in Broadstairs

A crowd of dog walkers are expected to descend on the Kent coast for a brisk winter walk this December.

Botany Bay Hotel in Broadstairs is throwing its very first Christmas Doggie Jumper Walk, encouraging locals to dress their four-legged friends in their best festive knits and join in with a seaside stroll.

The pub, which is owned by Faversham-based brewery Shepherd Neame and is located on the clifftop in Kingsgate, is a dog-friendly spot popular with walkers and cyclists.

The new Christmas event, which is completely free to join, takes place on Saturday, December 16 from 10am.

Walkers will meet at the pub with their dressed-up pups and walk from there to the nearby Joss Bay and back again.

The walk is expected to take around 45 minutes to complete.

When dog owners return to the pub, they can head inside to warm up with a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie.

If you fancy sticking around until lunchtime, the boozer is also known for serving hearty meals including haddock and chips, sirloin steak and a chicken and bacon club sandwich.

There’s also a festive menu currently available featuring dishes such as roast turkey, a beetroot, spinach and mushroom wellington and double stout Christmas pudding.
