First to take the stage is GZA, who will be performing at Dreamland’s indoor Roller Disco venue on Friday, August 18.

The American rapper is best known for being a founding member of Wu-Tang Clan, one of the best-selling hip-hop groups of all time.

Since the release of their debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) in 1993, the New York collective has released a string of singles including Protect Ya Neck, C.R.E.A.M. and Triumph.

Several members of the group, including GZA, have also released solo material outside of the band’s albums.

During his Dreamland set, fans can expect to hear Wu-Tang Clan hits as well as GZA’s 1995 solo album Liquid Swords.

The following day, on Saturday, August 19, rapper and MC Dizzee Rascal will be performing on Dreamland’s outdoor Scenic Stage.

The artist, from Knockholt near Sevenoaks, first made a name for himself in the early ‘00s for his influential work in the British grime scene.

His debut album, Boy in da Corner, earned him the Mercury Prize in 2003 and has since been certified Platinum, selling more than 300,000 copies.

His hits include Dance Wiv Me, Bonkers and Fix Up, Look Sharp and he has collaborated with a number of acclaimed artists such as Calvin Harris and Florence and the Machine.

However, in March 2022 the musician was forced to temporarily put his career on hold after being convicted of domestic violence.

The artist, whose real name is Dylan Mills, was given a community order, including a 24-week curfew and 12-month restraining order banning him from contacting his former partner, as well as being ordered to pay £2,190 in costs and a £95 surcharge.

For those who aren’t big fans of hip-hop music, Birmingham rock band Ocean Colour Scene are also stopping off in Margate this weekend.

The band will be performing at another one of Dreamland’s indoor spaces, Hall By the Sea, on Friday, August 18.

These are just some of the big names that are visiting the vintage fairground this summer, as artists such as Tom Jones, Primal Scream, McFly, Queens of the Stone Age and N-Dubz have already performed there this year as part of the Margate Summer Series.
