Mercury Prize nominees GoGo Penguins give Kent gig at Ramsgate Music Hall, November 2014

Sought-after band-of-the-moment and Mercury Prize nominees GoGo Penguin play a Kent date tonight (Thursday, November 6).

They were pipped to the Album of the Year post by the band Young Fathers for their album Dead, with the results announced during the Barclaycard Mercury Prize awards ceremony at London's Roundhouse last week.

Manchester-based trio GoGo Penguin were among the 12 shortlisted nominees for their album v2.0, alongside such artists as Damon Albarn, Bombay Bicycle Club and Kate Tempest.

In an exciting opportunity for music fans, there is a rare chance to see GoGo Penguin in Kent at Ramsgate Music Hall on Thursday, November 6.

Pianist Chris Illingworth, bassist Nick Blacka and drummer Rob Turner, whose sound is described as “groove-heavy, highly lyrical, acoustic-electronica”, will perform from 8pm.
