Admire incredible body art as Kent’s biggest tattoo convention returns for another year.
The Maidstone Tattoo Extravaganza will host a number of tattooists, traders and exhibitors at the Kent Showground in Detling over the Easter bank holiday weekend.
The event kicks off on Saturday, April 8 and will run until Easter Monday. You can book tickets in advance online here.
The independent exhibition is organised by couple Fraser and Samantha Williams, both from Maidstone, who have been showcasing body modification at the convention since 2017.
The weekend event will feature more than 100 artists, from independent freelancers to larger studios, who will be inking customers over the three days.
Visitors can discuss their design ideas with artists, check out the studio’s flash tattoos and even book themselves in to get a tattoo at the exhibition.
This year’s convention includes many Kent-based artists and studios, including Black River Tattoo in Rainham, Alex Crook Studio in Sittingbourne, The Union in Maidstone and Stars and Swallows in Dartford.
The show also welcomes tattooists from around the world, and in the past has featured artists from Italy, Turkey, France, Malta and Spain.
There will also be a number of traders, such as Vertical Vinyl, Chupacabra Taxidermy and Moonmist Emporium, selling handcrafted items and gifts.
The convention will also offer visitors the chance to sample street food and drink from local vendors, including Maidstone’s Double Bubble Bar and Delaney’s Kitchen from Tunbridge Wells.
Tickets cost £15 for adults, children up to the age of 16 go free.
