Sevenoaks Panto cast aim to perform their panto when theatres reopen

There could be panto in spring, if one theatre team has their way.

As theatres were shut at Christmas, some of the county's pantomimes were able to move online, including the Stag Theatre's show in Sevenoaks, Jack And The Two Metre Beanstalk.

The festive treat starring regular Silly Billy and the rest of the cast was eventually live streamed twice in December, clocking up more than 1,500 bookings, with demand even coming from abroad including Australia, Belgium and Germany.

Writer/director Jamie Alexander Wilson said: "We think we can safely say the show was virtually seen by up to 5,000 people.

"It was great to be able to bring a tiny bit of Christmas magic to a few families, and to be able to provide a couple of weeks work for our cast and crew, but very sad to say goodbye after only two performances."

He added: "We have plans to bring the live show to the Stag for a run later in the year, when theatres are eventually allowed to reopen."

The show is scheduled to go ahead for the Easter holidays from Thursday, April 1 to Sunday, April 18.
