Tunbridge Wells: Thrive: Discovery Weekend in a Secret Manor, a family-friendly relaxing weekend

Did you know a secret manor house is hosting an uber relaxing event this weekend?

The Secret Manor at Mabledon, between Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, will host the second Thrive: Discovery Weekend on Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30.

The uplifting event will feature positive boots such as stress management tools, natural beauty, mindfulness, parenting, yoga and pilates, fitness, craft, cooking and outdoor activities, aiming to enhance your family's lives and help them thrive - and you too.

Each day will have a range of talks, therapies, workshops and advice from the experts on a range of ways to boost your wellbeing.

They include Hypnobirthing with Your Birth, Your Baby author, Hollie de Cruz, hosted by Mum's the Word, and author Sophie Sabbage will be talking about her journey with cancer and her books The Cancer Whisperer and Lifeshocks: And How to Love Them.

There will be taster therapy sessions, such as rose quartz facials, reiki and reflexology.

Workshops include a Laughter Workshop with Janice Leahy, discovering tools and exercises for a great night's sleep with The Sleep Deep Method coach Beatrix Schmidt and an introduction to meditation with Kirsti Matthews, plus Calm Parenting with Dr Sarah Maynard.

Local chefs will be demonstrating their skills in the kitchen, including Bruce McMichael from The Lemon Grove, who will demonstrate Mediterranean dishes, Bobby Brown from the Kentish Hare preparing a Devonshire duck breast with blackberries and Stone Bass Sashimi and Scott Goss from The Twenty Six show dishes made with locally foraged ingredients, as seen on the current series of The Great British Menu.

There will also be a yoga and pilates studio and family-friendly include art and craft sessions, mini fitness classes from Family Inspired Training; mindfulness for teenagers with Wild and Precious Minds and Kent Wildlife Trust will be hosting family woodland walks with bug hunts and sketching sessions, plus not forgetting the youngest visitors, with baby yoga classes coming from Buddha Buddies.

There will also be a pop-up bookshop, plenty of food and drink and items to buy.

The event is open from 10am to 5pm on the Saturday and noon to 5pm on the Sunday. Tickets on the day cost £25, with under 16s going free with an adult. For every child ticket booked Thrive Events will donate £1.50 to the event's charity partner, Fegans.
