The Southern Model Show, a celebration of model-making hobbies, is coming to Ashford this September.

This family-friendly show is a great way to showcase stunning displays of model aircraft, helicopters, ships, tanks and other vehicles, made by passionate enthusiasts who dedicate hours of their time to creating them.

Meet the creators and find out how to begin your own model journey, or simply admire the craft from afar with fascinating facts about model-making.

The weekend is packed with a varied programme of activities for the visitors of all ages to take part in.

The flying programme is a special series of displays where pilots can elevate their models by using contextual scenery from momentous historical events such as the Battle of Britain and D-Day.

For something a little more exhilarating, you can check out the racing events taking place across the weekend.

Off-road buggies, cars, tanks, motorbikes and trucks will be racing along the tracks and a number of water vessels will be taking to the high seas to compete against one another.

The demonstrations will have visitors cheering from the sidelines for their favourite vehicles, from roaring motorbikes to impressive submarines.

You can even get involved with the weekend yourself by bringing your own models to showcase your skills. There will also be a Bring and Buy Stand where you can pick up a bargain or collectable.

The event is topped off by tasty food stalls, craft stands, amusements and even weekend camping.

Not only will your prize include family tickets to the show, but will also include a private tank ride for you and your family. These military tanks usually hold up to 12 guests, but your family will be able to enjoy this exclusive experience all to yourselves.
