A rip-roaring tale of murder and forbidden love is the latest offering from Canterbury Players.

John Ford’s 17th century classic revenge tragedy ‘Tis Pity She’s A Whore focuses on the incestuous relationship between young Giovanni and his sister Annabella.

Their attempts to keep their illicit affair secret lead them into even murkier waters.

Director Nigel Banks said: “It isn‘t for the faint hearted; the nearest modern equivalent would be a Tarantino film, which is why it’s aimed at an audience aged 16 and over.

“One of the props we need is a pig’s heart. Fortunately Matt Axon, who plays Giovanni, used to work in a butcher’s, so will be able to get one without too much difficulty.”
