Tom Grennan headlines Dreamland in Margate with support from Alfie Templeman

It's been five years since I last braved a festival.

Feeling disgusting for a whole weekend and having to queue for the toilet for three days isn't something I relish the thought of.

It means I've missed out on dancing and drinking with friends as the sun goes down as we listen to some great music.

But an evening at Dreamland gave me that fix of festival life without having to pack baby wipes.

The summer concerts at the Margate venue have been hugely popular among my colleagues so I was excited to see what the fuss was about, and it didn't disappoint.

Fresh from a surprise acoustic session at the Albian Rooms, he performed hits including Amen, Little Bit of Love and his latest with KSI Not Over Yet, giving the YouTuber turned boxer a shout out as he prepared for his match against Swarmz and Luis Pineda last night in London.

There was nothing self important about his presence on stage. I've never met him and unlikely ever will but it was like he was addressing his friends in the crowd.

He knew where he was (surprisingly rare in my experience) and was ready to give the people of Margate a great night.

His support act Pixey was adorable. Her music made me think of a Hilary Duff romcom in the noughties - which as far as I'm concerned is a great thing.

She got the crowd ready for Alfie Templeman who was the perfect set up for the main man himself.

The food choices were vast and despite paying nearly festival prices for it the portions made it hurt significantly less.

As it came to an end and the now shirtless Tom left the stage, the crowd tried a 'one more song' rendition only to be silenced by Sweet Caroline.

The final event of summer for many, ending with its national anthem.
