The show, which has been co-created by magic legends Penn and Teller, is the latest in a string of sellouts from Mischief Theatre.

The company’s previous productions include the Olivier Award-winning Play That Goes Wrong and the critically acclaimed Comedy About a Bank Robbery.

Mischief also found fame on the small screen with a six-part comedy series, the Goes Wrong Show, on BBC One and Amazon Prime in 2019. The show received nominations for the TV Choice Awards and National Television Awards, and was renewed for a second season in 2021.

Magic Goes Wrong follows a hapless group of magicians as their charity fundraiser spirals out of control in front of an unexpecting audience.

The show pulls plenty of surprises out of its hat, with exhilarating stunts, spectacular illusions and farcical comedy.

Alongside Penn and Teller, who are widely regarded as two of the world’s most famous magicians, the show was created by Mischief's own Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields. The trio have worked together on the company’s previous productions.

Starring in the UK tour are Daniel Anthony, who has performed on the West End in the Lion King, and Valerie Cutko, who has made her name in Hollywood musicals such as the Phantom of the Opera and Les Misérables.

Magic Goes Wrong is at the Marlowe Theatre from Tuesday, April 5 to Sunday, April 10. Book online here or call 01227 787 787.
