Fitness YouTuber Matt Morsia from Hythe prepares to open new gym as part of his Morsia company

A fitness YouTube star from Kent has revealed he is opening his own gym.

Matt Morsia, from Hythe, is the man behind MattDoesFitness - the UK's number one fitness channel on YouTube.

He has published more than 1,400 videos, mostly filmed in Kent, which range from funny and informative videos, often featuring his son Luca and wife Sarah, to him attempting some of the world's hardest, most extreme and unusual training and diet regimes.

He has more than 2 million subscribers on YouTube and 988,000 Instagram followers.

As well as posting videos, he has also written a book, The 24/7 Body, which earlier this year reached the Sunday Times bestseller list.

Matt, 34, has now revealed he is opening his first gym.

It will open in student halls at Loughborough University in Leicestershire in the summer.

Matt said: "I am so excited. I can't believe it is happening.

"It is mad to think people will be in a Morsia gym.

"It will be a chance to shape the way people train. Some gyms in apartment blocks can be very generic. But this will be the best gym, more performance based."

Students living in the halls will be able to access the equipment. It will be called the Morsia gym and is the latest venture under the Morsia brand.

Matt has already launched an app and earbuds under the same name.

He also hopes to open more gyms in the future.

Earlier this year, former PE teacher Matt revealed how much he earned on has earned on YouTube through his videos.

He said at the time: "If you've worked extremely hard over a long period of time, which I have, to make the money you're currently making, talking about it is no different to talking about any other barometers of success, like if you won a trophy or win a competition or award or a certificate at primary school, you are actively encouraged to talk about that and be proud.

"So why is making money any different?"
