Police have since confirmed four people have been arrested in connection with a brawl at the shop, with one of the suspects linked to an earlier robbery in which a taxi driver was stabbed.

The shop in the town centre remains taped off while police investigate what happened.

Shocked onlookers are said to have taken refuge in a nearby taxi office after the assault spilt out into the street.

The violence reportedly started near the harbour and continued up into the town centre.

Smashed glass and a large lump of wood can be seen at the crime scene, with uneaten food left on the tables.

It comes just a week after another stabbing in the town.

A man in his 20s suffered a knife wound to his arm in the seafront attack in the early hours of last Saturday.
