Halloween fright nights, scare mazes and creepy tours across Kent 2018

Dig out the black hats and zombie make-up: hardened horror fans can choose from chilling nights to scare mazes and ghost hunts on Halloween night. Here's the pick of what's on offer on All Hallows Eve...

SCREAMLAND AT DREAMLAND, MARGATE

There's seven scares to be had at Screamland this Halloween - if you dare to try them. There will be seven nights of scares at the multi award-winning scare festival. The seven scare mazes include the Dreamland Sleep Experiment, Mary Decomposed and Upside Down, along with favourites such as Dead and Breakfast.

A Screamland ticket includes access to all seven scare mazes from 6pm and unlimited use of the rides in the amusement park. ‘No Scare’ tickets are also available for those too terrified to enter the mazes but who want to soak up the Halloween atmosphere with unlimited ride access. Screamland's last night is tonight from 6pm to 11pm. The scare mazes are 12A rated and anyone under 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult aged 18. To book visit dreamland.co.uk

HEVER CASTLE

The castle's luxury bed and breakfast will be hosting its Halloween Dine & Stay event on Wednesday, October 31, with Dr Ciarán O’Keeffe. An overnight stay in the luxurious accommodation and a sumptuous chef's table feast' dining experience, will combine with activities where Ciaran looks at paranormal zones in each room in the castle. HALLOWEEN

The 18 rated film is on at cinemas across Kent. Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle reprise their roles as ultimate survivor Laurie Strode and Michael for a climactic showdown that will appease fans of the series, set to the chilling strains of Carpenter’s repetitive synthesiser score. The movie has been praised by critics.

BROADWITCH HAUNTFEST, NEAR GRAVESEND

The award-winning Hauntfest have a range of scares this year’s Hauntfest at Southfleet. They include The Edge with unforsaken fiends, the Spooky Castle, Thirteen Freaks, a subterranean world inhabited by sideshow freaks and MassAcre, an intense and disturbing corn maze. HOODEN HAUNTING, WILLESBOROUGH

The Halloween fright night event - branded the Hooden Haunting - will take place at the Hooden Smokehouse and Cellar in Willesborough on Wednesday October, 31. The attraction is the first event of its kind at the pub, and will feature a 45-minute maze and live actors and will be led by guides from 7pm to 9pm. Tickets are £15 and must be purchased in advance. Guests must be aged over the age of 18 or 16+ if accompanied by an adult. For more information go to hooden.co.uk

DEAL CASTLE

Halloween Ghost Tours will run at the until tonight at 6pm. 7.15pm and 8.30pm. There will be myths and stories surrounding the castle to hear as well as some of the strange experiences of those who work here.
