The Kingdom Choir, who sang at Harry and Meghan's wedding, to sing at the Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury

The choir who sang for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at their wedding play a sell-out show in Canterbury this bank holiday, alongside a local choir.

The Kingdom Choir, who released their debut album Stand By Me after performing the title track at the wedding last year, play the Marlowe Theatre on Bank Holiday Monday.

Their rendition of Stand By Me went straight in at No.1 in the Billboard Gospel songs chart after the wedding and had more than 10 million YouTube views.

After appealing for a local choir to join them, Simon Langton Girls Senior School Choir was chosen.

Conductor Karen Gibson said: “Being part of the royal wedding was such an honour and we were delighted to be part of such a prestigious national day of celebration.

“This time last year, I had absolutely no clue what was going to come.

“There were some lovely things going on – a few of us had just filmed with Call The Midwife, which had been a lot of fun… little did they know what was going to then happen to the singers

they booked.

“It has been all change, and not without challenges, but it’s been a brilliant, wonderful blessing of a time.”

The show is sold out, but there may be returns. Go to marlowetheatre.com
